From Guang Community in Ethiopia to Nasir Community Association, USA

Receive via-email from Tharjiath Kuon in New York

It is undeniable fact that Nyeng and Jiok Kiir are sons of Duany althugh Nyeng was borne by his step- brother Thiang Kiir. That is to say we are from the same decendent. And as a result of this "blood relation, " both families share the same constitutions in a legitimate governance which is by far more constructive than the kinship . Majority of Gaaguang (community) were very much happy both in Africa and in Diaspora when they heard that Nasir recognized being a part of the "nuclear family" as Nasir cast its votes to Mr.Pal Gatkuoth both in a capability and other aspects for that matter. That is a turning point in the history.

Pal, like any fallible individual, we as a community believe he has weaknesses and strengths which any leader of whatever people might have, but one of the things which regretted us in his leadership and which we told him to correct but did not heed it, is the letter "I" which he has taken as a catch phrase in his ordinary life. It is very romantic to have self-confidence in oneself in doing something, but it should be used with caution. Pal has a "especial talent" which he considers to take him above every one else in the community we are in. short, to be proud of your achievement is one thing and that is healthy and may give you an applause and reputation in the community you belong, but you have to be wise enough to use that self confident with for the good of the community otherwise. We told him to correct that derogative behavour but he always fails to do so many a times.

Another weakness we observed from our brother, is an attitude of divide and rule policy. A leader should not take a side of wrong favoritism. We believe that a leader should be a charismatic individual and one who exercises a democratic attitudes in his/her administrative and political decisions which of course should be marked with reasonable flexibility in listening to constructive criticisms provided by the others. Pal definitely lacks this quality. If Pal were a good leader, we believe that Nasir should not have two opposing camps, which did not happen in any of organization's preceding chairpersons. In addition, a leader must be socially interested person who values his/her society where he/she comes from no matter how poor, backward and very underdeveloped is that community. You must and should see them as individuals like you are.Pal does not see his community as it is above him instead the reverse is the case in Pal's Philosphy. He is always interested in dividing a very tiny family like ours by sidelining others who should correct him but fail because of his misleading conception of the constructive criticism which some of us who are opportunists took it as if the community is against him for no cause .His recent visit to Ethiopia is the evident of the fact .

In this connection, we wish Pal were not elected. Some Nasir sons and daughters might have cast their votes on the wrong side of the box. If he was elected to make a difference as a man from minority clan we think that could have been, otherwise if his election was to meet a pretended claim that "he is able individual, that can not show to the outside world that he genuineness for the leadership is a proof of his ability to bring a difference We afraid of his tranfrent and a democratic attitude," There are a few individuals among Gajiok community we claim that Pal is only one who likes Gajiok among all Gaaguang community, that may be a straight -jacket philosophy and a complete cooked truth ,how can a single individual claim and be considered the best in the entire community? That is fake and a fabricated fact made by PAL HIMSELF .We think those who believe that want to ignite a fire between him and his communities (both Gaajiok and Gaaguang communities).

We also blame Nasir leadership for giving ill pieces of advice to Pal, in that if Pal was constructively advised, we believe he could refrain from that behavour wholly. Instead we believe many of us who supported his coming to power want to use him a steppingstone to Harold his weaknesses and inabilities to lead the community in the right path. That he is socially, educationally and politically unfit to rule. That objective we think, was the cause for the fundamental victory he achieved during the elections .We heard many were claiming that he should not be the one to lead Nasir community in 21st century in .A poor claim we consider that it has no formidable ground from those of you, said it
. They said that Gaguang should not rule. We think and believe that because if one man's weaknesses, the entire community should not be considered unfit to rule .If some of us should think that way, that can disproof our poor claim that we "are the most conscious people politically, educationally in the entire Nuer LAND. As educated elite, we have to leave behind such sentiments and see the future of our communities both as brothers and Nuer at large. Having first access educational opportunity can not be considered a right and especial talent is just an opportunity and no need to boast of that, as many of us would view it.

When Pal was coming to Africa, some of you were propagating that Pal is going t o be attacked by Gaaguang in Africa .Pal is our brother, any different in ideas and views can not blind full us up to that extent of .We believe in a smooth discussion of differences without violence.

Finally, we would like to tell you that Pal is advised to take constrictive criticisms. And from now onwards we believe he will step back from his previous behavour, otherwise, he would be considered as an ignorance son thereby isolate him socially in the community, no matter how important he is, he be told to learn from his mistakes .In addition, his leadership is to be considered worthless to the entire community as h is a stiff necked gentleman o learn from his mistake. The community would like to tell Nasir that point. We think Nasir should stand on its right heels and see the past as a past .To day people are not the same with yesterday ones .We are in a very rapid and changing world of idea s views and characters. We love to be a part of the family but that should not mean should be destructively criticized. The criticism should be unilateral and constructive one otherwise enough is enough, the family may overt-one the differences
