To the Elders-Mediators for peace and reconciliation of NCA

From the peace committee of NCA, led by

Mr.Koang Gatkuoth.

Hi folks, we have received your recent call for peace and reconciliation towards NCA reunification, with a stated deadline that to be February 14, 2004.It's very essential for us to talk of peace and reconciliation in order to revive NCA back to its normal unity, but it's also so bad to waste a crucial time for a dialogue that may not be succeeded. We frustratingly say this because of an insistent failure to find a solution between the two groups of NCA. Regardless the facts from above, we still have a positive response to your call for peace and unity, and we like to let you know that we are ready to attend the conference regarding peace and unity.

Our positions on peace process still the same, but we have few proposals to be considered. These proposals are neither conditions nor demands in views rather than demonstrating logical fairness. Here they are:

1) Elderly Peace Committee requires an equal number of mediators from both sides of NCA. we came up with this proposal because some elders were involved to defend a group during the conference in Omaha, and were there to sabotage any potential decision to be made by the peace lovers.

2) The rights of NCA members or voters must be respected. This, as a technical maneuver, can save us time and reduce any kind of chronic ambition to win the victory. Winning the members of a society is not an obligation rather than a free will and favorite choice. For this reason, the merger for two groups of NCA will be achieved by the comment of mass in their sides.

3) Women and Youth may have their members in the peace committee because they have an equal right and legitimate role as any body. It will also bring about down sizing the number of dominant volunteers of either side in peace process, as well as equal privilege for all contibutors.

Again,

we want to assure you that we are ready to discuss any issue focusing on peace and unity for the people of NCA. We look forward to seeing your further information before our journey get started. Please, don't hesitate to contact us for any fruitful comment on peace as the best resort.

Thanks be with you and God bless us all in the work of reconciliation for our community. Simon G. Wakoa in San Diego, California. Good luck!
