Nyanyier was born in 1980 near Nasir town in South Sudan . She was born to Nyabiel Wal Chan and Gach Biel Chuol. Nyanyier was the second child among six siblings many of whom scattered all over the world due to the brutal civil war in which their late father once struggled to end.
