WHAT IS GOOD TO CONTRIBUTE MONEY AFTER DEATH?
Dear all friends &brothers in Nasir community,
I'm really blamed us a lot b/c when we know that our brothwer is seriously sick & he need help we all just keep silent ,. After the aperson die we admired about him and go to website and speak out more about him, in my opinion, we should talk and contribute the money to take him where he could find the better treatment.instead to talk to me is meaningless while we lost our great person.
If we really loves our brothers please contribute before the death come.
Forexample, Stephen Duol which you all surprised about his death. he was been sick for couples of years, and you guys knew and wouldn't think about his life.
I made him in 2005 at Dimma Refugees camp and It was when I knew that Stephen his sick, Stephen his one leader who is truly understands the importance of his community,
Second, person is Jok Kuey Lual in 1996 he was been sick in Addis Ababa also he asked you for help b/c the Ethiopian government recomment him to go to European countries for treatment and they can cover his treatment he need only money for tickets and you failed to help him After his death people sent some money what is the loves? for our great people I hope many people knew Jok Kuey every well during his time in Gambella.
What I understood now from people they don't care how much you know and how many things you did for them, they will strat to knew until you die . Than they will strat talking about your goodness
Please think about our people especially the community leaders in North America before they die.
And Thanks
Lam JOK Wai

My condolence to Family of Stephen Duol Chuol
Dear all,
I am saddened to hear an unexpected death of a great leader of our time, who would remain irreplaceable by all accounts. When I heard the news about his death, it shocked me and made me indecisive.
The peace has come to our country, and people Like Duol should have harvested the plantation he helped plant. However, God had a plan, and it took its course.
I knew little about his characters due to generational gap, but his leadership had shown his great humble characters to all Sudanese. He has accomplished uncountable victories during the war, and has survived our 22 years old struggle, and our hero has lastly died in a peace time.
The death is unbearable, but family should strive very hard to forget and precede with things a head of them.
May God comfort the family left behind and may his soul rest in peace.
Thank you,
Geng D. Minydet

Choul Dugak the GOSS had lost a great hero, the late major-Gen Stephen Duol Choul.
please allow me to pay my last respect to the late major General Stephen Duol Chuol; we may think that major Gen-Stephen is gone forever, but as a true son of Nasir in particular and a brave military leader in south Sudan in general.
I would arguably say his legacy will still remained out forever. Sadly, I didn’t know him in person, yet I still recall the big role he played during 1987 agreement between ANYANYA II AND SPLA which led to the captured of our great Town Nasir from NIF REGIME.
He surely deserved to be honor and called freedom fighter because he has never move back and forth or nor does he left his main objective until untimely death took it part.
may God rest his soul in peace.
sad news indeed,

I will always miss you STEVE DUOL!!!
By surprise, the underhand of death has taken away the life of our dear brother and leader Stephen Duol Chuol.
Duol is a rare leader of this generation who couldn't bother to question your origin when one needed help from him and offered any assistance without second thought. He caused laughter even one is not in the mood.
I got to know and experienced him very well when he stayed in my house( Nairobi) in 2003 & 2004 during the time my wife nursed his surgery. He mixed with all races without any hindrances. Therefore, his death shocked me and caught me by surprise.
Nasirians can honor his legacy and build a school after his name.

South Sudan Lost Irreplaceable Military Leader
I received the sad news from Khartoum on Saturday and never got any sleep the whole night. I developed migrain within an hour of hearing the death of uncle Gatchuol. I was so sad that I became sick the next morning.
Major Gen. Gatchuol is not only a dear leader to me, but a family member. I remember when I used to sit in his lap and play with him in Bilpam in 1981. I also remember playing with his AK-47 back then.
It was him who rescued me in 1991 when I got into trouble with some soldiers in Nasir. When he saw me being persecuted, he was so furious that he ordered the arrest of the soldiers. I have a lot of memories about Gatchuol that could be narrated in a form of a book.
His untimely death is a great loss to all of us. I hope the NCA communities will organize a memorial service that could be attended by those living in Canada and the U.S.

Dear brothers,
I just returned from SPLM trip in Vancouver this morning and only to find this sad news. I am deeply saddened by the death of Stephen Duol. He is one of the few commanders in Nasir who served with dignity and respect. He always respected all of us regardless of our status.
I happened to meet with Stephen on 23 December 2006 in Juba while he was to travel to Ethiopia. I knew he was very sick, but I thought God would spare his life for us. The people of Gajiok, Jikany, Nuer and South Sudan have lost a great hero.
I hope our so call Nasir Communities or Foundations in North America will send some people to attend Stephen's Burial in Nasir. This is the kind of situation that our organizations should support. May God bless his soul and his family,
Sincerely,

Big Shock for death of our hero
Dear Members and Southern Sudanese as whole,
I would like to extended my word of encouragement to close family and colleagues of our late brother stephen Chuol. Hearing death of our brother and father Duol chuol is big shock.
Stephen entricated all Southern Sudanese under Arab domination. He was an extrovert because his thought and feeling are focusing on our community. Stephen was an eminently social person.
I have extended also my ecouragement to every one especially Nasirian family to support or send some close family see Stephen body before he was not buried.
We Nasirian community in Victoria, Australia agreed yesterday to sent one of stephen close family as soon as we could and pass every one greeting to late brother Stephen Duol family.
I hope we shall not forget Stphen Duol forever.
Yours;

Unfortunate Passing
The unfortunate passing of Stephen Duol is a great loss to us all. Duol was a very rare personality in Nasir and South Sudan. A man who never compromised his conviction and belief; very resolute, focused and firm in everything he deemed right for his people. I never knew Duol personally until I last met him in Dimma training camp opened for the SPLA in November 1995. I left Mizan Teferi for Dimma simply with aim to meet with him and Gach Duach to orient us about the political developments and other challenges facing the movement in those years.
Late Duol received me and my other young political aspirants (esp. from Nasir) with open arms and pride. Hearing his unwavering speeches, which he calmly and chronologically enumerated, my political conviction started and developed todate, as I was immersed in nothing but revolutionary political baptism which I never realized in the first place.
I have no better words to describe how big Duol's love for Nasir than himself, esp. during the sad years of 1990s.
To Stephen! We miss you, but we will never miss to remember the darkest day you stood firm for liberties of Nasir children! You left us the torch, and we shall keep lighting in it with glory and pride! Rest peace, Stephen!!!

HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES
HEARTFELT CONDOLENCES TO LATE MAJOR GENERAL STEPHEN DUOL CHUOL LUAL'S FAMILY,
I extend my deepest and heartfelt condolences to the family of Chuol Lual, Nasir, Nuer, south Sudan and the country of Sudan in general. The country of Sudan and indeed the continent of Africa have lost a very great man whose goals for struggle was to LIBERATE and to bring HOPE to the people of southern Sudan from the Arab domination north for the last 21 years.
Late Major General Stephen Duol was a brave man in the southern Sudanese arm struggle both in war and in peace.
The departure of both Major General Duol Chol and professor Giet Jal to our Father God in the kingdom of heaven has put unfulfilled gap to the people of Nasir, Nuer, and southern Sudanese in general as the peace accord of January 9, 2005 represented itself.
We have to remain very strong and united. And, to acknowledge that there are many Major General Duol in the family of Chuol Lual, Nasir and Nuer people in particular.
Like Moses of Israel, Jimo Kenyatta of Kenya, George Washington of USA, Nelson Mandela of South Africa, Gandhi of India and Arafat of Palestine; late Major General Duol Chuol Lual was indeed a man of nationalism, peace and unity!!
I have come to know Stephen personally very well during our stay in 2004 in Nairobi, Kenya.
To bring into the attention to the family of late Major General Duol, I’m here to assure you that the people of GREATE NASIR shall not and will not abandon you but to walk side by side with you together because the lost of our son and our brother is for all of us. And therefore, we are all sharing the same grief as the same family with the same problem.
May Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace!!

The breaking news from Sudan: our leader, uncle, brother and father Major general: Stephen Duol Chuol Lual felt down in Khartoum, the capital city of Sudan on March 10, 2007. The people of Southern Sudan, and the family as all eastern, and western Jikany were astonished for good, for what was happened, Stephen's live struggle for South Sudanese movement it's known to everyone since the struggle begun. The image show above is not new image with a current rank, and the current image with current rank Major general will be mailed to us through electronic mailing. and also the birth date will be send to us from Nairobi where his Passport was already sent by Major General: James Hoth Mai in order to fill Stephen travel Visa to United States, unfortunately the death was occurred while Stephen has been on procces to fly to Nairobi, Kenya.
All South Sudanese government officials from Jubba, Malakal, Khartoum, Bentu, and Ethiopia were arrived at Nasir the home town of Stephen by birth. The South Sudan government gave the option to Stephen's family to decided where the body of stephen will be taken, and to be buried, then the family had decided that, Stephen's body will not be buried in Malakal, not Jubba, and event Khartoum. The great home town, and great land for Stephen's family is only option for whole Nasir people, and that where the body will be buried, then, the government of Southern Sudan agreed, the body of Stephen arrived at Nasir town on March 12, 2007 and burying with in same day.
The memorial day will be May 12, 2007 in Nasir, and all Southern Sudanese, and families from anywhere around the world will be at Nasir to attend the remembering day. the more informations, and biography for Stephen's live struggle will be recorded tomorrow from Nasir through connection Satellite phone to U.S. let us all pray, and ask God for forgiveness to Stephen .
May God bless his soul and his family,
Sincerely,
Peter Both

Yours;
Deng Majiok Bol
