Nasir County members in United States

On Saturday April 10, 2010, Nasir County members in United States will meet in Omaha Nebraska to discuss the issue of reformation of the community for Nasir County’s members who live in United States, according to new system which brought by South Sudan Government. We are highly welcome all Nasir county members to attendance April 10 meeting, and we will be updating you for the meeting’s place as soon as possible.

On Saturday September 5, 2009 in Lincoln, NE a sizable number of Nasir County members in United State gathered in Lincoln, Nebraska shortly after Duany Union Conference to discuss ways for organizing and uniting members of Nasir County in Diaspora. This short notice meeting was convened in part, due to the urgent need of finding a comprehensive solution to problems that have caused by separation of greater Nasir into two counties currently Ulang, and Nasir since the signing Comprehensive peace Agreement (CPA).

The meeting resolved to further explore and act on the following initiatives:

  • Form a steering/Organizing committee to research ways to organize members of Nasir County
  • Consult with members of Nasir County in the United States through the steering committee about a possible formation of Nasir County as an entity that would first address the outstanding conflicts among members of Nasir County in Diaspora assuming the same is being done by members of Ulang County in Diaspora. (It’s important to note that members of Ulang County in the United States are pretty much better organized than those of Nasir County)

It was also resolved that the following individuals, in hierarchical order, lead the effort to organize members of Nasir County in the United States.

  • Yohannes Wiyier Tut – Chair 308-675-0481
  • Buoy Chuol Goach – Vice-chair 402-451-1786
  • Komach Deng Dey - Secretary 402-917-6932

The above mentioned committee will conduct extensive consultations with members of Nasir County in the United States to promote the idea, approach the leadership of Nasir County in the Unites States about their success story, document the committee’s progress in writing, conduct a weekly teleconference among the three members of the committee, and present the committee’s recommendations to a Nasir County Conference to be organized in not too distance future.

We ask for the support of each and every one of you as we start the journey to bring unity and understanding to members of Nasir County in Diaspora.

Thanks

Yohannes Wiyier Tut
