Nasir County Conference & Fundraising After extensive consultations (random phone calls & foot work) with members of Nasir County in the United States, the Nasir County Organizing Committee has agreed to implement the following proposals: * Schedule a Nasir County Conference for Saturday September 5, 2009 * Schedule a Nasir County fundraising for Sunday September 6, 2009 Here are the sequences of activities that will take place on Saturday September 5, 2009: * Members of Nasir County in the United States will discuss a proposal to establish/reform an organization that would represent members of Nasir County in the United States. The organizing committee will ask the conference to either accept or reject the proposal * If the proposal is accepted, the conference will proceed to choose a name for the organization, agree on its business structure, formulate its mission and elect/appoint its leadership After all of the above steps have been successfully completed, the organizing committee will brief the conference on the fundraising event that will take place on Sunday September 6, 2009 in Omaha, NE at Saint Richard Church & School. The purpose of the fundraising is to raise money for the most urgent humanitarian needs in Nasir County, Southern Sudan. Jacob Buk Them will be heading the fundraising effort and will post a separate notice and announcement for the fundraising. In order to make the upcoming conference a success, the organizing committee has made plans for leadership development - should the proposed organization emerge. The committee is calling on members of Nasir County in the United States who are interested in playing leadership roles in the newly created entity to forward their names to the committee’s secretary, Komach Deng Dey by August 21, 2009. Based on our preparation plans, the following positions would be up for grasp.
