Official Declaration of My Candidacy for the Chairpersonship of Jikany Community Development (JDC)
Therefore, as of today, I officially and publicly declare my candidacy for the Chairmanship of Jikany Community Development (JCD). Jikany community is one of the largest divisions of the Nuer tribe, not only in the USA, but in the Sudan and Ethiopia. I have profound love and passion to serve this great Community. If given a chance to lead this great community, I will provide the best quality of leadership along with respect and dignity. I believe Jikany society needs a visionary leader who will inspire and energize people to participate and contribute morally and socially toward community development. I made this decision to run for the Jikany Community Chairmanship with strong support from a person I believe is my best friend in the world. That is my wife, Nyatot Kueth Dup . Nyatot and I have been happily in marriage for 19 years. We have seven children. Both Nyatot and I born and grew up in Nasir. We currently live in Mankato, Minnesota, USA. In the 2003, I graduated from the E.B.Wilson High School in Hendersonville, Tennessee. I was awarded a scholarship to attend college for my supreme performance of excellencies. Within the same year, I attended Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tennessee. However, I discontinued going to school at the Volunteer Community College because my family and I moved to Mankato, Minnesota in 2006. Now, I currently attend South Central Community College in Mankato, Minnesota. In order to support my family, I attended nursing training courses for certification in 2009. Therefore, I completed all required courses and was certified as a Nursing Assistant. I am now working as Nursing Assistant at Hillcrest Company in Mankato. In addition, I currently serve as a board member and secretary of finance for the Nile Christian Hope Association in Mankato. Having said that, I have a desire, determination and commitment to serve my people as a Jikany Community Chairman. I will bring to the task if elected the spirit of oneness and togetherness among sons and daughters of Jikany. Please vote me. My Goals to run for the Jikany Community Development Are as Follows: · To unite the Jikany Communities. This goal will be the top priority in my leadership if I am elected. · To strengthen the Jikany Community at the grassroots levels. · To empower women and youth of Jikany through participation in Jikany community activities. · To create and enhance good communication among the members of Jikany community. · To engage church leaders to help and support the Jikany Community Development. · To put in place mobilization and membership registration drive. · To raise more funds for the Jikany Community Development so that we can put the JDC projects into action. · To promote Nuer Cultural values and norms. · To build local school at our villages. · To build Soccer fields for youths in all four counties of Jikany. · To work together with the Jikany local chiefs and County Commissioners. · To train teachers to teach Thok Naath and English in various Jikany localities. · To reach out all Jikany wherever they are and have a united front for peace and development. · Strive to have an inclusive, united Diaspora Jikany Community in the USA, Canada, Australia, and Europe.
Finally, I strongly believe that the above mentioned goals will uplift and strengthen the Jikany Community Development in USA. I urge all voters to vote for me so that our community will be strong and prosperous. With that I am humble and eager to beg your moral decision in voting me into the position of the Jikany Community chairmanship in the USA.
