SPLM/A Chapter has invited the two commissioners of Ulang, and Nasir Counties on Sunday December 17, 2006.

Two Eastern Upper Nile Commissioners, Gathoth Gatkuoth of Nasir County and Duer Tut Duer of Ulang County arrived safely in USA . They are touring States of their constituency to meet with them. They landed in one piece in Omaha , Nebraska and were received by whole Southern Sudanese with happiness. Base on organized SPLM office in Omaha under Stephen Kuol, they met with them under leadership of Elizabeth Ajongo.

They brief SPLM members about the situation back home mentioning development, unity among Southern Sudanese, and reconciliation among various armed groups. Members were very excited to see

officials from counties that deal with daily activities on the grass root level. They advised members to create unity among themselves here in Diaspora. You should learn techniques and adapt ways of doing things, so that we benefit from them.

Audiences were given chance to ask questions that concern them back home. The first question was direct to all about the situation in Malakal how it began and who started? Gathoth Gatkuoth explained the instigator of incident was caused by Militia group in Malakal. The fight escalated and caused more death among civilians. The Southern Sudan Government worked so hard to calm the situation and requested all forces to return to their barracks. SPLA forces went back to their stations and the situation in malakal is peaceful now.

Duer Tut Duer: Ulang County commissioner

Mary Obat asked about development progress in Southern Sudan since we have enough monies, why there are no summer roads? Dr Duer begun by stating, how he gets to work with Southern Sudan Government. I was in Europe when the nomination started. I received a lot of telephone from various places mostly in western World. Some of them wanted to know why I need to go back to a place where there are no good infrastructures. The Southern Government is working on main issues, such as hospitals, education, Army forces integrations, and civil administrations. Our government is functioning well and we have monies in reality accountants, engineers, and doctors are in this audience. What is your role in development back home?

Our coming to you here is spreading unity among us. We urge you all to work hard behind our charismatic President Kiir. Your goal is to recruits those who are against CPA implementation.

On December 18, 2006 the two eastern commissioners attended SPLM meeting at Saint Richard church in Omaha Nebraska . The two commissioners told the SPLM members that they must unite themselves to keep the comprehensive peace agreement implemented.
